TabVault (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is a browser extension that helps users save and organize browser tabs with AI-powered semantic search. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
TabVault collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:
All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API. No data is sent to our servers, third-party services, or any external parties except as described below.
TabVault uses the following third-party service with your explicit consent:
Anthropic API (Claude):
Important: TabVault does not store, transmit, or have access to your Anthropic API key beyond your local browser storage. Your API key never leaves your device except when making direct requests to Anthropic’s servers.
TabVault requests the following browser permissions:
tabs: To access tab information (title, URL, favicon) when you save a tab.storage: To save your tabs, collections, and settings locally.activeTab: To identify the current tab when you click “Save this tab”.scripting: To extract page content for AI summarization (only when you enable this feature).<all_urls>: To access page content across all websites for text extraction. This permission is only used when you explicitly save a tab with AI summarization enabled.TabVault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
